Recommended: Damien Rice

Gotta hear Damien Rice's new one "9" ... especially check out "9 Crimes".

A few tracks are cuh-razy weird, but he has strokes of genius so just listen to the samples and pick the best tracks.

I love this show ... just started watching on the recommendation of a friend. It's like watching a tv show about Lockhart High School only I'm the geek in the back that never gets any camera time and the Lockhart Lions never won.

I haven't seen the movie, but the tv show is suprisingly good - how often do tv knock off's work out - go figure. The script is smart, the camera work is great, and the acting isn't bad. Check it out.

Wanted: Funny Emo Shirt

This morning while fetching my cup 'o joe at Tryst, I saw a guy with a shirt that had this on the back:

I've scoured the internet to find one, but to no avail. I think it's hilarious and would love to know where I can pick one up.

Anyone have any ideas?

Travel Club does Texas

Yes, that's Stevie Ray Vaughan, God rest his soul, and that's Travel Club on Town Lake in beautiful Austin, Texas. B, Ash, Kyle and I went to Austin for a long weekend of Texas food, music, and laid-back good times.

B wasn't so thrilled with having to eat meat at Smitty's without sides or utinsels, but they were able to confirm many of the locations of my Lockhart supposed "tall tales".

Kyle confirmed that Jo's Coffee is among the best around, even if the Austin American Stateman is a waste of wood pulp. Thank goodness for the Austin Chronicle.

My friend Brian is a writer for McGarrah Jessee in Austin, and gave me a tour of their amazing office space downtown. They have the Shiner account and have done some great ads. Check 'em out.

I also became a huge fan of Tacodeli, a hole in the wall in northwest Austin that serves the Frontero Fundido taco, the best I've eaten in a long, long time. It's worth the plane ticket ...

Prince rocks.

Prince is one of the strangest people on the planet, to be sure, but you have to give him this ... the little dude can entertain.

I mean you have to be quite a guitar virtuoso with a three octave voice to overcome an electric blue polyester suit (did you notice it never got wet) and I-am-ready-for-my-close-up do-rag.

But he did it, and I think it was one of the best half-time shows in years.
