Simple Design = Great Design

I just picked up one of these nifty little gadgets at A + R.

Though I'm a fan of creativity for it's own sake, I love artistic design that serves a practical purpose.

If I had to guess, I bet the person who designed this is a uber-interesting -- probably a Hillary supporter -- but interesting nonetheless.

I know where I'll be doing most of my Christmas shopping this year!

Here are some other items I love:

Herman Miller Aeron Chair
iPod
2 Second Shelter

Recommended: AppleTV

All my music and photos stored on my two Macs streamed wirelessly to my TV and controlled by a very slick remote and graphical on-screen interface.

You gotta get one of these things.

Recommended: apartmenttherapy.com

I love apartmenttherapy.com, a great website for everything related to small apartments in New York and Chicago.

The site, founded by brothers Max and Oliver Ryan and now run with their wives and friends from Howard Street in New York, is dedicated to helping people make their apartments better places to live.

Call me a voyeur, but my favorite section of the site features tours of readers' small NYC apartments.

Hot design(er)

While surfing the internet to come up with some ideas for my stairs, I ran across Kara Mann's website. I like!

Five products that get on my nerves:

1. Caffeine-free Diet Coke

2. Those mens' colored dress shirts with white collars and cuffs

3. Air fresheners that hang from your rearview mirror

4. Fancy desk accessories (like silver letter openers)

5. Spray-on salad dressing
